Relegation-bound professional soccer K League 1 side Jeonbuk Hyundai has signed Brazilian midfielder Andrigo (29), who played in the K League 2 (2nd Division) last season, on loan.
Jeonbuk announced on April 19 that Andrigo has joined the club on loan from Chengdu Rongcheng (China).
Andrigo played for FC Anyang in the K-League 2 before moving to Chengdu last summer.
A former member of Brazil’s U-17 national team, Andrigo is an attacking midfielder with accurate passing and kicking.
He can also play on the flanks, which will help Jeonbuk diversify their scoring routes and diversify their attacking tactics.
Jeonbuk is currently in 11th place in the relegation zone.
The club hopes that Andrigo will create synergy with Thiago and Hernandez, who are showing signs of improvement, as a ‘Brazilian trio’.
Andrigo is already proven on the domestic stage. Since 2022, he has played for Anyang for a year and a half, scoring 13 goals and providing 12 assists in 51 official matches (49 K League 2 matches and two Korea Cup matches).
He is no stranger to the K-League, having been coached by current Jeonbuk coach Kim Doo-hyun in Chengdu, so he should have no trouble adjusting to Jeonbuk. Kim took over as head coach in May after assisting Seo Won-jeong as an assistant coach in Chengdu.
Andrigo joined Brazilian club SC Internacional in 2014 and made his professional debut the following year.
He went on to play for Atletico Goianense, Ceara SC, Sporting Recife, and other teams before making his way to the K League.
“Jeonbuk was an enviable team when I was playing in the K League,” Andrigo said, ”and now that I’ve gotten a great opportunity, I’ll make sure to achieve good results.” 안전놀이터
