The outline of the Korean team that will compete in the ‘Three Kingdoms of Go’ Nongshim Shin Ramyun has been revealed.

Kim Myung-hoon 9 and Shin Min-joon 9 earned their taegeum marks after winning the final round of the domestic qualifying tournament for the 26th Nongshim Shilla Ramen Boat World Championship at the Mazang-ro Go TV Studio in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on Monday.

Kim Myung-hoon defeated Sim Jae-ik, 7th dan, in the morning’s final in 213 moves.

With this victory, Kim became the first Korean to qualify for the Nongshim Shin Ramen Boat main event in seven years since the 19th edition.

In the afternoon final, Shin Min-jun 9th dan defeated Kang Dong-yoon 9th dan in 152 moves to earn his sixth career taegeuk mark.

In the other final of the day’s preliminary round, Seol Hyun-joon 9th dan defeated Byun Sang-il 9th dan with a bulgye to book his ticket to the Shin Ramyeon Bae for the second consecutive year.

Kim Myung-hoon, Shin Min-joon, and Seol Hyun-joon 9-dan will represent Korea at the Nongshim Bae along with top-seeded Shin Shin-seo 9-dan and one wild card to be announced at a later date.

However, Korea’s No. 2-ranked Park Jung-hwan 9-dan, who represented the country for 12 consecutive years from the 14th edition in 2012 until the last tournament, was eliminated after losing to Shim Jae-ik in the first round of the final qualifying round.

No. 3 Byun Sang-il was also eliminated by Seol Hyun-joon in the final qualifier, so it will be interesting to see who will receive the one wild card.

The Nongshim Bae domestic qualifier, which attracted 230 professional players of Korean origin, was held in three stages with differential seeding by ranking.

South Korea is looking to win its fifth consecutive title at the Nongshim Bae, which pits the country against China and Japan.

Meanwhile, in the domestic qualifiers for the 2nd Nongshim Baeksansu Bae World Senior Go Championships, which will be played by senior professional players, Seo Neung-wook and Kim Jong-soo won.

Four Korean players, including top-seeded Yoo Chang-hyuk and wildcard Cho Hoon-hyun, will be hunting for their second title at the Baeksan Manhunt.

This year’s Nongshim Shin Ramen Bae will kick off on September 4 in Yanji, Jilin Province, China, with an opening ceremony.

The first round will be held from Sept. 5 to 8, followed by the second round in Busan from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4.

The third and final round to determine the winner will be held in Shanghai, China, next February.

Shin Ramyeonbae’s prize money is 500 million won.

A streak prize of 10 million won will be awarded for three consecutive wins in the main round.

For each additional win after three consecutive wins, an additional 10 million won will be awarded.

The time limit is one hour and one second reading for each team.

The first round will be held in Yanji in September and the second round in Shanghai next February to determine the winner.

The prize for winning is 180 million won, and the prize for winning streak is 5 million won.
