The official Olympic timekeeper, Omega, presented the ‘Seamaster Diver 300M – Paris 2024 Olympic Commemorative Edition’ to Oh Sang-wook, the first individual gold medalist from South Korea at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Attention is focused on the watch that Oh Sang-wook (Daejeon City Hall), the first individual gold medalist for South Korea at the 2024 Paris Olympics, received from Omega, the official timekeeper of the Olympics.
According to industry sources on the 4th, Omega presented Oh Sang-wook with the ‘Seamaster Diver 300M – Paris 2024 Olympic Commemorative Edition’.
Oh Sang-wook won the gold medal in the men’s fencing sabre individual event on the 27th of last month (local time), giving the South Korean team its first gold medal.
Omega previously announced, “We will gift two watches produced to commemorate the Paris Olympics to two individual athletes, one male and one female, who won the first gold medals from the Korean national team.” The
Paris Olympic edition watches are the ‘Speedmaster Chronoscope’ and the ‘Seamaster Diver 300M.’ The prices for the two watches are 14.2 million won and 12.9 million won, respectively. Both watches have the Olympic emblem and the phrase ‘PARIS 2024’ engraved on the back. The
owners of the watches are Oh Sang-wook, who won the first gold medal at the Paris Olympics, and Oh Ye-jin (IBK) in shooting. The Seamaster
Diver 300M – Paris 2024 Olympic Commemorative Edition that Oh Sang-wook received is made of stainless steel and 18K Moonshine™ gold. It features a diving scale bezel engraved in relief using a laser and a single Super-LumiNova dot at the 12 o’clock position. The laser-engraved white ceramic dial has a matte finish with a raised polished wave pattern. The date window at 6 o’clock features the Paris 2024 typography in black. All hour markers are presented in white Super-LumiNova and diamond-polished 18K Moonshine™ gold. The hands, including the central seconds hand with the Paris 2024 logo, are finished with 18K Moonshine™ gold PVD. On the reverse side, the stainless steel commemorative caseback is decorated with a stamped medallion in 18K Moonshine™ gold with the Paris 2024 logo in mirror-polished and frosted finish, the frosted structure with mirror-polished ‘Paris 2024’ text and the Olympic rings. OMEGA will also award a watch to Oh Ye-jin, the first individual women’s gold medallion winner in shooter history. Omega’s Olympic Edition award ceremony began at the 2012 London Olympics, followed by the 2014 Sochi, 2016 Rio de Janeiro, and 2022 Beijing Olympics. This is the fifth time. Jin Jong-oh (shooting) received the watch for the first time at the 2012 London Games. Speed skating Lee Sang-hwa was the owner of the watch at the 2014 Sochi Games, and the men’s archery team was the owner of the watch at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games.
