Grosvenor Casinos has appointed Peter Turpin as the Venue Director of the Victoria Casino in London.
According to the operator, Turpin will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the property as London’s leading grossvenor casino and for “keeping The Big in its presence within the London gaming market.”
His role is part of Rank Group’s new corporate structure, and will also invest in the Grosvenor Casino in London.
Turpin began working for Rank in 1989, before becoming COO of Caesars Empire Casino and Metropolitan Gaming.
Turpin said of the new position at Grossvenor Casino. “It’s exciting to be back at Rank at such an exciting time for business after years of working with other brands in the sector.
“Big is a much-loved place in London, and as an avid poker player myself, I am highly regarded in a market that offers poker and a unique casino experience. I look forward to working with Grossvenor’s team to shape the next phase of Big’s history.”
Meanwhile, Debbie Husband, managing director of Grosvenor Casino, said of Turpin’s appointment. “We are pleased to welcome Peter with 30 years of experience in the gaming and hospitality business.
“We have an ambitious program to revitalize the Grossvenor casino site and it is important to have exceptional leadership in our main property.”
The news follows Grossvenor’s announcement that he has implemented a four-week academy in Nottingham for job seekers, with 10 new employees taking over at the end of the course.
