He returned from the disabled list exactly one year ago and has since gone 16-6 with a 2.60 ERA+, 165 strikeouts and 221 walks in 32 starts.”

Corbin Burns (Baltimore) was the runner-up, followed by Garrett Croce (White Sox) in third place. Burns is 9-3 with a 2.28 ERA in 17 games (106⅔ innings) this season, while Croce is 6-6 with a 3.02 ERA in 18 games (101⅓ innings).

Rounding out the top four is special talent Paul Skins.

A first-round pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft, Skins made his big league debut in just his second year as a professional. He has had a strong debut season, going 4-0 with a 2.06 ERA in nine games (52⅓ innings) this season. After being ranked seventh in our last rankings, Skins has jumped up to fourth with his impressive performance.

MLB.com writes, “Everyone knows how Skins has been performing so well so far, right? He didn’t have his best stuff against Atlanta on March 30th. But he still allowed just one run over six innings and struck out nine in just his ninth career start. After the game, the manager called it a “big learning moment” to see him make adjustments during the game. Believe it or not, there are legitimate voices saying that the 22-year-old pitcher should be starting for the National League in the All-Star Game,” explaining the Skins’ incredible debut season.
