After being widely criticized for his Summer League struggles, LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers) had one of the best performances of his Summer League career, hitting his first three-pointer in his first win.
James started the Lakers’ Summer League game against the Atlanta Hawks at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, on August 18 and scored 12 points in the Lakers’ 87-86 victory.
The 12 points were a career-high for Brown in Summer League play. In 23 minutes and 38 seconds of action, Brown hit three two-pointers and was 2-of-5 from three-point range, a far cry from his previous form, 안전놀이터 which had seen him shoot 0-of-15 from three-point range prior to this game.
However, it was a bit of a disappointment that his first and second half performances were all over the board. On the night, Brownie had a solid first half, scoring nine points. However, in the second half, he didn’t have much of a presence. After reentering the game with 5:26 left in regulation, he hit a three-pointer to make it 79-79 with just over two minutes left, but that was his only points of the second half.
Brownie, who started, scored his first points of the game on a mid-range jumper and added a layup following a breakaway. In the second quarter, he got a steal and hit his first three-pointer of the night. He finished with nine points in the first half, an improvement from his previous games. Despite scoring his first double-digit points and making his first three-pointer of the night, Brown had the worst court margin of any Lakers player on the night at -10.
Brown was drafted by the Lakers in the second round of this year’s rookie draft. He didn’t have a stellar college career, but it was his father, LeBron James, who convinced the Lakers to take him. LeBron has publicly stated that he wants to “play on the same team as my son at the end of my career,” and the Lakers drafted Brown because they didn’t want to lose him. In fact, LeBron, who was eligible for free agency, signed a two-year deal with the Lakers after the Lakers selected Brown.
