After stepping down as head coach of the Indonesian national team, new Ulsan HD coach Kim Pan-gon won his debut match to end a three-match losing streak.

Ulsan defeated Daegu FC 1-0 at home in the 26th round of the Hana Bank K League 1 2024 on Tuesday at the Ulsan Munsu World Cup Stadium.

A lucky own goal helped Ulsan (45 points) snap a two-game losing streak and move up to third place with its first win in three matches. Daegu (24 points), meanwhile, slipped to 11th place after an eight-match winless streak (four draws and four losses).

Ulsan welcomed bottom-of-the-table Daegu to the stadium for the debut of head coach Kim Pan-gon and put 토토 Daegu under intense pressure from the start.

Ulsan opened the scoring in the sixth minute of the first half with a shot from Kang Yoon-gu, but Yoon Il-rok’s powerful mid-range shot hit the crossbar in the 29th minute.

Ulsan, which was slowly getting closer to the goal, got a lucky break in the 30th minute when Go Seung-beom’s cross from the right flank hit the foot of Daegu defender Go Myung-seok and deflected into the goal.

After conceding the lead, Daegu missed a golden opportunity to equalize in the 33rd minute when Politzer’s left-footed shot was saved by Ulsan goalkeeper Cho Hyun-woo, and Sejingya’s rebounded shot was also denied by Cho’s super save.

Daegu pushed for an equalizer in the 20th minute with a powerful left-footed shot from Sejingya but was denied by a brilliant save from Cho Hyun-woo, and Ulsan held on for a 1-0 victory in the 32nd minute when Kim Min-joon’s shot was saved by Oh Seung-hoon.

In a match played at the Suwon Sports Complex, crisis-hit Daejeon Hana Citizens moved off the bottom of the table with a 2-1 victory over Suwon FC.

Daejeon, who added Kim Moon-hwan, Masa, and Kelvin in the summer transfer window, took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute when Masa converted a penalty kick.

Suwon evened the score at 1-1 in the 43rd minute when Jung Seung-won calmly slotted home a penalty kick after a foul on Masa.

However, Daejeon regained the lead six minutes into the second half when Masa converted Kim Seung-dae’s cross for a 2-1 lead and held on for the win to move up to 10th place on goal difference, ahead of Daegu, who lost to Ulsan on the same day. Suwon (41 points) remained in fifth place.

At the same time at Jeju World Cup Stadium, Incheon United defeated Jeju United 1-0 thanks to a theatrical goal from Mugosa in second-half stoppage time, giving new head coach Choi Young-geun his first win in charge.

There was no change in the standings, however, as Jeju (32 points) and Incheon (28 points) remained side-by-side in eighth and ninth place.
