Shin Min-seok returns from injury to complete his D-League comeback

The Ulsan Hyundai Mobis won 91-79 against the Daegu Korea Gas Corporation in the 2023-2024 KBL D-League on Nov. 11 at Icheon LG Champions Park.

The Hyundai Mobis rostered only seven players, including Park Sang-woo, who did not play due to injury. Kim Hyun-soo, Kim Hyun-min, Jeon Jun-woo, Park Joon-eun, and Kim Young-hoon played most of the minutes. 스포츠토토 Shin Min-seok was left out of the starting lineup, but he played 13 minutes and 51 seconds, scoring two points and grabbing three rebounds.

Shin (24, 197.4 cm) has been on the D-League roster but hasn’t played in a game. This was his first game back from a dislocated shoulder. He played with a shoulder brace. “I’ve been rehabbing and just started working out with the ball yesterday for the first time. This morning, I received a call from the team asking if I could replace players with fouls or physical difficulties, so I played as cautiously as possible,” said Shin.

Shin Min-seok grimaced midway through the game as if his shoulder injury hadn’t healed. “I’m not used to wearing a protector, so it was uncomfortable when I was shooting. If I can cover it with taping, I’ll try it. Actually, the most important thing is not to get injured, but I couldn’t do anything to save my own body when everyone on the team was working so hard,” he said about today’s game.

“Looking at the game from the outside, I think I need to work on my shooting and rebounding. I’m also going to practice shooting more when my shoulder is fine.”

Hyundai Mobis has had a number of players like Kim Tae-wan and Son Si-jin leave the team due to injuries. In the meantime, Shin Min-seok also suffered from a dislocated shoulder. If Shin Min-seok can return from his injury quickly, Hyundai Mobis will have less to worry about. “It’s up to the coach to decide after the All-Star break,” he said.

Currently, Hyundai Mobis has seen the addition of Asia Quarter player Ok-john and the return of Korea University junior Park Mubin. “I haven’t trained with Ok-john, but I’ve seen him play. I felt his passing was really good, and (Park) Mubin was really good. I felt really bad about his injury from the sidelines,” Shin said.

This season, Hyundai Mobis’ D-League roster was mostly composed of similar players. Among them, the most experienced player, Kim Hyun-min, not only scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, but he is also the most passionate on and off the court. “Not only does he work hard and give us energy, but he also sets a great example for the juniors who play with him,” said Shin Min-seok.

“I don’t give my opponents a handicap because I’m injured. I have a strong mindset and will rehabilitate well so that I can be a plus for the team when I return.”
