South Korean go legend Lee Chang-ho, 48, has added another title to his collection after 13 years. Lee Chang-ho defeated Choi Myung-hoon (48) in the final of the professional senior strongest match of the 2023 Ulsan Metropolitan Mayor’s Cup National Go Championship in Ulsan, South Korea, in 290 moves. With this victory, Lee won his 141st career title, 13 years after winning the 53rd National Go Championship in 2010.He also won the 2019 Baoshan International Masters in China, but that tournament was an invitation-only event. With the victory, Lee improved his head-to-head record against Choi to 34-8.Lee was ranked and seeded in the quarterfinals, where he defeated eighth-ranked Park Seung-moon and ninth-ranked Kim Seung-jun to reach the final .Meanwhile, Choi Myung-hoon, who made it through the qualifiers, defeated Kwon Hyo-jin 8 dan in the round of 16 and Yoo Chang-hyuk 9 dan in the quarterfinals .In the quarterfinals, he also defeated Seo Bong-soo 9 dan to reach the final, but was unable to overcome Lee Chang-ho’s barrier and settled for runner-up. The prize money for winning the Pro Senior Strongest is 15 million won, while the runner-up 스포츠토토존 prize is 5 million won.
