THE INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE (IOC) HAS SAID THAT THERE IS NO TRUTH TO FORMER FIGURE SKATER ADELINA Sotnikova’s (27-Russia) confession that she tested positive for doping at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and that it has no plans to reinvestigate the matter. “The IOC replied to a query from the KOC on Sotnikova’s doping issue on Nov. 4,” an official from the KOC’s international exchange department told Yonhap on Nov. 7. “The IOC said that Sotnikova’s A-sample doping test in 2014 was negative, and that a major test of Russian athletes in 2017 did not find any doping violations by Sotnikova,” the official said .”We took issue with Sotnikova’s self-reported positive 2014 A-sample, but the IOC’s statement that she had never tested positive for an A-sample makes it difficult to dispute,” the official added. Sotnikova caused a stir last month when she said in a YouTube broadcast that she was forced to undergo a second test (on a B sample) after testing positive on an A sample at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, and was not disciplined because the second sample found no problems. The Korean Sports Ministry and the Korea Anti-Doping Agency (KADA) took issue 토토 with the positive A-sample test and asked the IOC to reopen the case .However, the IOC ruled that there was no evidence of a positive test at the time of the first test, and Sotnikova was stripped of her gold medal from the Sochi Winter Olympics, making it difficult for Kim to take over. Kim won the silver medal in the women’s singles figure skating at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, losing out to Sotnikova in a close call .Sotnikova clarified her comments on social media last month .”I meant to say (on air) that doping was ‘found,'” Sotnikova said at the time, adding that “there were scratches on the doping sample (at the Sochi Olympics), and they (the World Anti-Doping Agency or International Olympic Committee) found them. “This is not to say that she tested positive for doping, but rather that she was referring to the issue of sample tampering and that there was a miscommunication .Sotnikova recently posted a photo on her social media accounts of herself posing with a medal ceremony photo from the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
