South Korean midfielder Lee Kang-in has once again brought home a trophy for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

On Monday (Sept. 29), PSG clinched the French Ligue 1 title for the 2023-24 season. It was the club’s 12th league title and third consecutive league crown.

The league leaders appeared to have clinched the title with a 3-3 draw at home against Le Havre in the 31st round of the league on Aug. 28, but second-place AS Monaco failed to close the gap on PSG with a 2-3 loss away to Olympique Lyonnais in the 31st round on Aug. 29.

The Round 31 result widened the gap between PSG (70 points) and Monaco (58 points) to 12 points with just three games remaining until the end of the season. PSG’s early title victory is confirmed as Monaco’s chances of overtaking them in the standings have disappeared, even if PSG lose their remaining fixtures.

After winning the league title for the past two years in a row, PSG returned to the top of the league this season to become Ligue 1 champions for the third year in a row, adding the 50th trophy to the club’s record.

After Monaco’s loss to Lyon clinched the Ligue 1 title, PSG took to their official social media accounts to announce the win. Lee Kang-in also took to Instagram to share a video of the club’s victory and celebrate with a “trophy” emoji.

Ligue 1 also congratulated PSG on their 12th league title on their official social media accounts. Lee Kang-in’s theatrical equalizer against Le Havre drew attention when he called it the “title goal” that decided PSG’s championship.

Lee came off the bench in the 31st round of the 2023-24 French Ligue 1 match against Le Havre at the Parc des Princes in Paris, France, on Aug. 28 and entered the field at the start of the second half with his team trailing 1-2.

PSG conceded a goal in the 19th minute of the first half to start the game. Bradley Barcola equalized in the 29th minute to tie the game, but Le Havre took the lead again in the 38th minute.

Down 1-2 at the break, PSG bolstered their attacking lineup at the start of the second half with the introduction of Lee Kang-In, Seni Mayolu, and Kylian Mbappe, but before the substitutions could have an effect, they conceded another goal from the penalty spot in the 16th minute of the second half.

Down by two goals, PSG kept their hopes alive in the 33rd minute when Ashraf Hakimi found the back of the net, but they were unable to find an equalizer in regulation time.

It was Lee Kang-In’s left foot that saved PSG from defeat. In late stoppage time, Lee sent a left-footed cross into the box that Portuguese striker Gonzalo Hamus headed home for a theatrical equalizer. Lee celebrated with his teammates after assisting on Hamus’ goal.

Lee Kang-In’s equalizer sealed the early victory for PSG. After PSG drew at Le Havre and Monaco lost at Lyon, PSG were crowned Ligue 1 champions this season. After PSG clinched the 먹튀검증 title, Ligue 1 dubbed Hammers’ header from Lee Kang-in’s cross the “title goal.

Lee had previously brought the trophy to PSG in January, when he scored the offense’s only goal. PSG lifted their first trophy of the season in January when they won the Trophée des Champions (French Super Cup).

Lee came off the bench and scored the winning goal in a 2-0 victory to not only lift his first trophy since joining PSG, but was also named the tournament’s MVP.

After lifting his first trophy just six months after joining PSG, Lee has been a regular fixture in the team’s league title challenge, helping them to win their second trophy of the season with a crucial equalizer against Le Havre with a sharp cross.

After winning the Trophée des Champions and then being crowned Ligue 1 champions, PSG and Lee have now won two titles and are aiming for a quadruple, with the remaining two competitions (the Coupe de France and UEFA Champions League) also in their sights.

PSG are also in the final of the French FA Cup, the Coupe de France, and are just one step away from the title. The final of the Coupe de France will take place on May 26 at the Stade Pierre Morois in Villeneuve d’Ascq, France, against Olympique Lyonnais.

PSG has reached the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League and will soon face German Bundesliga powerhouse Borussia Dortmund in a two-game series. PSG will first face Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League 2023-24 quarterfinal first leg on May 2 at 4:00 p.m. at Zignale Iduna Park in Dortmund, Germany. Lee joined PSG from RCD Mallorca in Spain’s La Liga last summer and has played in a variety of positions this season, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 31 games to help PSG in their title hunt. With two trophies already under his belt, it will be interesting to see if he can add to his tally in the remaining two competitions.
